Associate Director of Finance and Accounting

The Associate Director of Finance and Accounting reports jointly to the CEO and the Director of Administration.This person is responsible for developing and managing traditional nonprofit accounting as well as business accounting systems for all revenue streams totaling over $5M annually and growing. Revenues include traditional fundraising, government contracts and grants, and revenue generated from our social enterprise businesses. Working in close collaboration with an outside financial services firm (eCratchit), the Associate Director will be the thought and analytical leader of all accounting activities, including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, and year-end audit preparation. S/he must exhibit the highest level of discretion and professionalism with enthusiasm for creating usable and actionable reports, improving efficiency and helping our most vulnerable young people grow their businesses.

Store Manager/Youth Trainer (Business Training Manager)
(Boston site)

The Store Manager or Business Training Manager is both the bookstore manager and a coach for our youth. This position is a full-time exempt salaried position with full benefits. The salary range is 42K-52K, commensurate with experience. The Business Training Manager position offers an exciting opportunity for an individual with a high degree of social responsibility and an orientation to high performance to join a growing organization that combines “doing good, while doing well.”

Based on your previous experience and after intensive supported paid training you will be managing and leading shifts as the lead Manager on duty at your site within one month. We train you and you train, inspire, hold accountable and support your team. Previous experience in a retail setting,  bookstore or online industry preferred but not required.

IT Technician - Part-time

Responsible for supporting, administrating, reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating information technology systems operations. This role will be the first end user support for the employees at More Than Words. The position requires the individual to act independently through the use of skills, experiences, and training to resolve IT issues - determining and documenting resolutions and/or advising on the appropriate action. Responsibilities also include hardware and software installation, deployment and support of PCs and peripherals, and network and systems administration support.

Temporary Business Training Manager
(Waltham site)

MTW seeks a business oriented, highly motivated, and detail-oriented manager to lead a team of 5-6 youth employees to manage their own retail and online used bookstore and community space.  This position requires an individual with prior retail experience (bricks and mortar, as well as online retail), a commitment to working directly with youth and a track record of motivating and supervising a team to establish and meet high performance standards.  As with any retail enterprise, this position will require flexible scheduling and direct work with customers and suppliers.  This position is temporary full-time in nature beginning October 2017 and ending April 2018.
