Youth Development Manager (Boston)

More Than Words seeks a Youth Development Manager, with experience working directly with high-risk youth. The Youth Development Manager works with youth, individually and in small groups, to support youth to set and achieve goals around education, employment and self-efficacy. The Youth Development Manager supports youth to manage and navigate challenges as they transition to self-sufficiency and responsible adulthood and establishes performance standards as a basis for “compassionate accountability”.In addition to working directly with youth, the Youth Development Manager is responsible for youth recruitment and orientation, for representing MTW to the community and for building and enhancing relationships with referral and other community partners.The ideal candidate should have a minimum of an undergraduate degree and 3 years of experience working directly with high-risk youth in a youth development program or education setting, ideally with some experience with DCF and/or DYS.

Commonwealth Corps Community Engagement and Volunteer Coordinator
(Waltham)

The mission of the Commonwealth Corps is to engage Massachusetts residents of all ages and backgrounds in service to strengthen communities, address unmet community needs, and increase volunteerism. Members will serve in a stipended full-time capacity from 8/15/17 - 6/30/18. Benefits include a focus on member training and development, as well as a bi-weekly stipend, a completion award, an inspiring network of fellow members, and other supports.

MTW seeks 1 full-time Commonwealth Corps member to partner with MTW staff to create an engaged community of volunteers that increases support for the organization and awareness of its mission. The member will serve mainly in our Waltham site with one or more days a week spent at our Boston site. The Community Engagement Coordinator will be a high-energy, organized leader who will build and manage strong youth-driven systems for a sustainable community engagement program including: 1) meaningful volunteer experiences and group volunteer events, 2) development of systems and new training materials, 3) social media and community events.
