The Book Lover - Work alongside youth to help manage the on-line and retail bookselling (sorting and entering books, filling orders, managing the storefront)
Education Coach – Support youth, weekly, on either Tuesday or Thursday evenings from 6-8:30pm (Waltham) or 4:30-6:00pm (Boston.) Education Coaches help youth achieve a GED or HS Diploma, conduct mock interviews, and/or help facilitate professional development workshops.
Specialty projects- Do you have a skill to offer to our business? Our managers will meet with you to explore ways you can help us move forward.
Mock Interviewers/Budget Coach - Volunteer and give our youth the critical feedback they need to hear in order to improve their interview and/or budgeting skills. MTW provides sample questions and a rubric to use during the interview, and a budget document to use during the coaching. These monthly, group meetings will be held at More Than Words and last on average 45 minutes.
Run a workshop - Facilitate a workshop for youth in your area of expertise (e.g. interviewing, financial literacy, study skills, web design or marketing)
Help us connect - Help put us in touch with community resources or potential employers. Host a group of youth for a site visit, tour, or shadow day at your place of business or campus to help youth gain critical exposure as they plan for their futures.
