  • Set a Date

    A day, a month - how long you run your drive is up to you! Drives from January to March are the most helpful because we are otherwise low on donations.

  • Spread the Word

    The key to any drive success is getting the word out there! Use our click-and-go packet and share with your company, neighbors, and community.

  • Have an Impact

    Once your drive is over you can see your donations in action at either location. Depending on the size, we can even pickup your collection to keep it easy for you!

Not only do donation drives have a big impact on their own, but you can add on other ways to support our youth and program:

Do I have to use the drive packet?

Not at all - use it, don't use it, or select parts, it is only there to be helpful to you!

Can I get a pickup for my drive?

Usually yes! Like other pickups, it is arranged based on your location and estimated volume. We can help with all the logistics from day !

Do you provide materials for collection?

Usually we encourage drives to collect in containers that best fit their space, but in some instances for large drives we can provide some of our branded rolling bins for you.

How does my drive help More Than Words?

The books, clothing, shoes, and accessories you collect go right into our youth-run business which is where our young people complete job training. Processing and selling the items provides tangible work experience, and the proceeds back our programming.

What about tax receipts for drives?

We provide a copy of blank tax receipts in our drive packet for your discretionary use. If anyone shoudl need us to record their individual donation in our system, just let us know and we would be happy to do so!

Can I do a drive as part of my volunteer event?

We'd love that! Volunteer groups will often run a drive in the lead up to their event and bring the books with them. Please contact our volunteer coordinator to discuss as part of your event: volunteers@mtwyouth.org
